“Do you want to triple you income. Join Toastmasters.” — said JJ Hanley, Division E Director at our Annual Toastmasters Awards Night for our club. It was a statement as part of his speech to congratulate the members of our Club, who he had presided over as our Area Director for the year.
It was also very prophetic!
Little did the our club members or JJ Hanley know, but Eugene our sitting club President, had just been promoted to Director of Enterprise Collaboration and had indeed, with the increase in pay, tripled his income. From the time he started at the company to now, his income had tripled.
Eugene as you hear in this episode attributes a lot of his success to Toastmasters and to setting goals.
Eugene Chen is a co-worker, fellow Toastmaster and friend of mine. Eugene and I started working for the same company at about the same time. We worked together on several projects together, and I was always impressed with him and his charisma, drive, determination and his servant spirit.
We joined Toastmasters at the same time as Charter Members when our company started the club. We both started working through the workbooks and progressing through the projects.
Eugene moved into a new role as Internal Community Manager part of our companies new Enterprise Collaboration project. In this role, Eugene thrived and grew.
