In Episode 34 ( Episode 34 – Click the link here ) we discussed the Subconscious Mind, how it is created and how negative and limiting beliefs can be trapped there from a young age. These negative and limiting beliefs can be replaced with positive, success-oriented beliefs.
One of the chief techniques I teach in the Goal Achievement Success System is a program I learned as a Hypnotherapist. The Mental Bank Concept was developed by the founder of Hypnosis Motivation Institute, Dr. John Kappas, where I studied hypnosis and hypnotherapy techniques.
In Episode 35, Episode 35 Click the link Here, We discussed how your subconscious mind could be killing your dreams and goals and how to stop it using the 6 Ingredients for Success. The 6 Ingredients are the required concepts to understand how to affect the subconscious mind using the Mental Bank program.
Let’s do a quick review of the Mental Bank Concept and the 6 Ingredients for Success:
Dr. Kappas developed “Success is Not An Accident, the Mental Bank Concept” after 35 years of practice, helping many of his patients change their subconscious mind and achieve their goals and dreams.
The Mental Bank Concept
- Beyond use of Positive Thinking
- Subconscious mechanism that causes things to happen, causes us to make things happen.
- Works because of unconscious power or energy we have within us.
- Biggest Challenge will be to follow through.
- Not a get rich quick scheme, an overnight program, or positive thinking.
- It is steady incremental change.
The Mental Bank Concept is like recipe. All ingredients are necessary for success.
The Ingredients for Success are:
1. Must come to believe in the power of the subconscious mind.
2. Daily Reinforcement
3. Symbolic Language to communicate with the Subconscious Mind.
4. Ideomotor Response
5. Magic 30 Minutes
6. Drop it into Your Dreams
Why Can’t I Achieve My Goals
Last episode I asked:
If you are having problems achieving your goals; Why? If you can’t seem to get that dream job; Why?
If you can’t seem to double or triple your current income; Why?
How many of you deposit Thousands of dollars a day in your checking account?
What would your brain think if it did? Would you worry about money?
Let’s change the signal!
Today we’re going to talk about How To Change The Signal! How to replace the negative, limiting beliefs you may have with positive beliefs that will set your subconscious mind to the Goal Machine you want it to be.
I’m going to show you how to set up your own Mental Bank account that will help take your subconscious mind and your goals to the next level.
The material I am going to cover today is not easy to grasp on a podcast, which is one of the reasons why I have not presented it here, until now. I am working on putting together a Webinar and Online Course for this series. But, since we are getting close to the end of the year, I want to at least present it to you on the podcast.

The Mental Script Contract
In the 9 Steps To Successful Goal Achievement, one of the steps is Commitment. To be successfully set goals that you will be able to achieve, you must be willing to make a commitment. I used what I call Goal Getting Promissory Note to help you create that mental commitment in my book. This is because when we sign a promissory note, it is a commitment, a promise to repay something. We are making a commitment to ourselves.
In the Mental Bank Concept, we are doing the same thing. We are going to make a Contract with ourselves to change our mental script, the programming we have in our subconscious mind.
The Mental Script Contract is an integral part of the Goal Achievement Success System. As we mentioned in the Ingredients for Success, the use of longhand, cursive handwriting is important to these processes. Our goal is to bypass the subconscious minds, critical mind filter through the use of ideomotor response.

Write your Mental Bank Contract to arrive at your yearly income goal. This is called your Mental Bank Goal.
Your Mental Bank Goal should be 2X your current annual reality income!
You will arrive at this goal by paying yourself an hourly rate for “Value Events” that you will define.
I’ve attached a table on the Show Notes Page to show you how to calculate your Mental Bank Goal and the Goal For the Mental Bank Balance.
To give you an example: if your current income is $40,000 then your Mental Bank Goal will be $80,000 and your Goal for the Mental Bank Balance will be $320,000 or 4 Times your Current Income.

To build our Mental Bank balance we will be performing “Value Events” and paying ourselves an agreed upon value for each of those events. Now, what is a value event? If you listen to earlier episodes where we taught the the 3 Keys to Successful Goal Achievement, you will recall that we defined The What, The How and The Why.
The What defines the goal(s) we want to accomplish. The clearly defined, written goals.
The How defines the action steps that need to be taken to achieve the goals. What do we need to do to achieve your goals. The Value Events are these steps.
You will want to define the tasks that you would need to do. Let’s look at some examples:
I produce a podcast and I want to gain more listeners. To do that I need to product new content and good content. Some of the tasks that I have as Value Events are :
- Writing Show Notes
- Recording Episodes
- Posting Episodes
- Recording Interviews
- Editing Interviews
Whatever your goal is, you will have specific tasks that will need to be accomplished to move forward toward achieving your goals.
Value events can be anything that will help you achieve your goals. This can be activities such as entering you Mental Bank Values each night. You should pay yourself for educational activities, seminars, reading books. A Value Event is anything that provides value to your journey.
I’ve put an image of the Value Event Log for you to use to enter the amount you will pay yourself for each activity. For each Value Event you can pay yourself an hourly value or a flat fee. If the task takes time to perform, then you should pay an hourly fee. If it is a one and done type of activity, then pay a flat fee.
You must write out your Mental Script and list your Value Events in your own longhand. You will do the Script only once until you achieve your Mental Bank Goal.
You can change the Value Events at any time as often as you like.

What are your goals? Prosperity, Health, Happiness, Success
Work through the Goal Setting Worksheets to define The What, The How and The Why.
You Can focus on one area, or balance your events across multiple areas.
What about you? What are some Value Events for you?
Don’t pay for things that are automatic. Pay for what moves you forward.
The Magic 30 Minutes
I mentioned in Episode 35 that the Magic 30 Minutes are critical to this process. The last 30 minutes before we go to sleep are our most suggestible time and the time when Homeostasis is weakest. The purpose of this timing is to get these new thought processes and beliefs through the Critical Mind Filter and into our subconscious mind and then into our precognitive dreams.
It’s important to get everything else we need to get done in bed before we go to sleep done (ahem) then right before we get ready to go to sleep, start the Mental Bank Ledger.
**Note for those of you that have a TV in your bedroom and listen to the TV while you go to sleep. As I mentioned, this is our most suggestible time and the easiest time to put things into our subconscious mind.
What are you going to sleep to? The 11 O’clock News?
The Mental Bank Ledger
Now that we have set up the key Value Events that we will perform and track we will begin entering them into what Dr. Kappas defined as the Mental Bank Ledger. The Mental Bank Ledger is used to track and measure the Value Events and the values you pay yourself.
The ledger is just like a bank ledger where you build a bank balance. The ledger will be used nightly during the Magic 30 minutes.

The Mental Bank Ledger consists of three parts:
- The Ledger
- Mental Bank Happenings
- Mental Bank Investments / Affirmations
Mental Bank Goal
The Mental Bank Goal box is where you will enter the Mental Bank Goal that you set as 4 Times your current income.
There are seven columns on the ledger. The Date Column is self explanatory. You will enter the date on each page for each Value Event you performed.
You will list The Value Event you completed that day from your list of Value Events.
The Rate column will be used to enter the amount you will be paying yourself for each event.
In the #HRS column enter the number of hours you performed the event. For example, if your value event was to attend a workshop that was 3 hours long, then you should enter value of 3 in this column. You will pay yourself 3 X the Rate you defined for this event.
If you are paying a Flat Rate, you would leave this column blank.
The Deposits column is where you will enter the total amount of value that you will be depositing for each value event.
The Reality Income column will be used to enter the amounts of Reality Income you earn and are paid. For example if you earn a biweekly salary of $2000, when you get that paycheck, you will enter that amount into the Reality Income column.
When we get to Reality Income, we are going to Subtract the Reality Income value from the totals. Yes, I said subtract. We want to subtract any reality income to include salary, lottery winnings, debts paid back to you, etc. Count any income that you receive while doing this program and when we total the values, you will subtract this amount from it.
Mental Bank Balance
Each night, you will bring the balance from the previous day forward into this column. It’s just like balancing a checkbook or keeping totals in your bank account. . . except you are doing it by hand instead of using technology. It’s important to do this in your own handwriting. Do set up a spreadsheet to calculate this. We are working on changing the subconscious mind and doing in such a way to bypass that critical mind filter.
In this column, you will be adding all of the values for the Value Events you completed today. Remember to SUBTRACT the Reality Income values from the total. Don’t add it in.
Once you complete the totals for the day, you will then go to the bottom of the page, or back side if you filled the entire page with Value Events….. (That would be a good day!) and WRITE the following, again in your handwriting (Let’s say for example that you added up a total value of $37,975 for your Mental Bank Balance for that day)
“As of this date, I have earned and accumulated a Mental Bank balance of Thirty Seven Thousand, Nine Hundred Seventy-Five Dollars.”
THEN SIGN IT! Yes, Sign it.
This is part of the Commitment. The mental process of signing your name to the document symbolizes your agreement with it. You are attesting to it’s value and authenticity.
Mental Bank Happenings
Everything that comes to you is a result of your subconscious mind! Each day we are going to write about all of the positive things that occurred to or for you that day.
Reinforces all of the POSITIVE things in our subconscious mind. Do not write negative things.
Start at whatever you can think of! Some examples that I once used were:

|1/18||Got up early enough to go to the gym and worked out for an hour.|
|Had a great breakfast with the Chairman of the County Commission|
|Signed an exclusive deal with builders in a New Home Community|
|Everyone loved my Goal Getting Seminar at First Knight Realty|
|Weighed in less today than yesterday.|
Write these in your handwriting as well.
Mental Bank Affirmations / Investments
This is a Dual purpose section. Investments is advanced function of MB. Don’t worry about it until after 1 Year and have a good balance.
Affirmations are positive goals that we are stating that we want to achieve. This is where we write the things we want to happen to us or for us during our journey to achieve our goals.
You will write down 2 Affirmations each night!
Try one for several weeks. These can change over time. Some examples I’ve used in the past are:
I will take five Loan Applications this week.
(This is a literal affirmation where I state exactly what I want to happen.)
Five of my applications this week came for First Knight Realty.
(This is an inferred affirmation, another way of putting things to the subconscious mind. It infers that I took five loan applications this week.)
A couple more affirmations in a literal and inferred tone.
I will make ten database calls tomorrow.
I have scheduled five meetings from the ten calls I made.
You will do these affirmations each night, demanding to your subconscious mind that you are doing these value events, these tasks that you must do to achieve the goals you are setting.
Once you complete the Mental Bank Ledger, Happenings and Affirmations,
Close the Book. Stop writing. You are finished. It’s time to go to SLEEP.
Don’t forget to subtract the Reality Income! You can go into negative….That’s a good thing.
Once you reach your goal, rewrite your goal.
You should always have a new goal. Keep growing.
Friend, Are you going to get past Homeostasis? It will be tough! You can hate it, it is only 2-3 minutes a night. I know how hard it can be. I miss it more than I like to think about.
But, You Just Have To Do It!
This is a proven system, developed by a man who worked for over 35 Years working with people and their subconscious. I have been doing it for over many years working on specific goals that I have had.
I have Increased my income from $10K per year to almost $200,000 one year without a college degree. That was one of my goals.
I wanted to become a CIO for a mortgage company. I achieved that goal using this program.
I wanted to lose weight. I went from 296 pounds to 210 Pounds using this program.
Recently, I wanted to change careers. I started using this program to set myself up to achieve my goal to move into a Social Media career. I achieved that goal this year…. 2 years sooner than I expected.
It is SIMPLE! Don’t make it hard. Simplicity is the clue to effectiveness.
