Today’s Quote Is From Jaime Casap

Don’t ask kids what they want to be when they grow up but what problems do they want to solve. This changes the conversation from who do I want to work for, to what do I need to learn to be able to do that.
~ Jaime Casap, Google Global Education Evangelist
When I saw this posted on LinkedIn, I was amazed at the thought in this quote. I completely agree with Jaime Casap on this. We are still training our kids to think about what they want to be not necessarily what they can do when they grow up. I often say this about myself. “I don’t know what I want to be when I grow up.” I am not sure what I want to do to make a living or what job I want to do.
But as I learn more about life and about being successful, the more I learn that to be successful I must be able to solve peoples problems. That should be what we teach our kids. What are the problems of people? How can we solve those problems.
So, instead of asking our kids, and ourselves as well, what we want to be when we grow up, As them What problems to they / I want to solve.
