Take Control

Taking control of what you can and don’t worry about what you can’t. When you take control of your life you will realize that you can only control certain parts of it. Those are the areas you need to focus on. Those are they areas you need to put your full energy in.

Let me give you an example. I’ve talked in this series about How I Lost 40 Pounds in 16 Weeks. I did this but I had a lot of control over the actions I needed to take, the time I had perform the action.

I had a 1200 calorie a day eating plan. My doctor put me on 300 Calories for breakfast, 400 Calories for lunch, 300 Calories for Dinner and 200 Calories snack.

I had full control over what I was going to eat. I worked in an office at the time of the challenge I took. My company has it’s own cafe’ with great food. But, I brought my own lunch. I brought in great tasting frozen entree’s that had a calorie count within my range. I would bring lunch entree’s that I knew tasted great and had the amount of calories I needed to stay with.

I wanted to make sure that I knew exactly how many calories I was eating. I had the option to bring my food and keep it in the freezer at work. If you don’t have the freedom to do that, if you can’t control what you eat each day. Don’t worry about it. Eat as healthy as you can. You can use tools like My Fitness Pal to select your food or learn what the calorie count is.

The other area I had the ability to control at the time was time. I wasn’t as active in many of the projects then as I have now. I had the ability to dedicate at least 2 hours after work to go to the gym. Having the control of the time allowed me to take the action I needed to take to Lose 40 Pounds in 16 Weeks. Today, I could not do that. With all of the projects I have going on, plus the dream career that was a goal I set and achieved, my time is limited. I don’t have 2+ hours a day to dedicate to my #WorkOnWellness goal.

But I am not going to crave control over the time it will take me to achieve my goal.

Work on the areas you have you have control over and Take Control of them. You will be amazed at the incredible change you will see in your life and your goals when you take control of what you can and not worrying about what you can’t.
