Be Grateful For Your Health
I like to think I am healthy. I am grateful I am as healthy as I am because I am not one to take the best care of myself. Yes, I have Type 2 Diabetes, but I am a lot more healthy than many people my age and with this disease. My eyesite isn’t the best, but I was able to have Lasik surgery years ago that helped correct some of it. Between my subsequent bouts of denial and poor habits, it has gotten worse than it was, but I can still see relatively well. Many Type-2 Diabetics cannot.
I have great function in my feet and legs. Diabetic Neuropathy is one of the big problems for Type-2 Diabetics and one their doctors constantly check for. My primary doctor checks my feet for neuropathy every visit. This is one of the reasons my doctor with the great bedside manner once asked me, “Which foot do you want me to amputate first?”
There are many other “side dishes” Type-2 Diabetics can choose from when they have the Type-2 Entree. Trust me, this meal sucks. If you want to have better health, take better care of yourself. It’s your choice, at least in America. We have the options to eat well and healthy.
Be grateful for your health. We have no one to blame, in most cases, except ourselves.
Health is a valuable gift. If you have been blessed with it, be grateful for your good health. Money cannot buy you good health. It can certainly help you get better health, but there are some things money cannot buy.
